Spirit Themed Editorial :
representing the renewal of creative souls as they authentically express themselves in responses to my own life experiences, dealing with judgments and negative projections from external beings and mindsets. This editorial, 'Gift of the Broken Things', represents the concept of 'Wabi Sabi' and 'Kintsugi' as Japanese phrases inspired by my half-Japanese culture. 'Wabi Sabi' defines the beauty of imperfections and the growth and decay in life, representing that no matter how unique, authentic, and genuine we are, we will still get judged for our actions and the way we do things. These imperfections are what make our lives come together like yin and yang. This concept of mixing the combination of both the broken perceived bits of our lives (negative feelings) with the positive ones, these actions of mending the broken pieces into our present days with loving attention, further create a transformation of beauty and art in how we see life overall. It is symbolic of a broken plate, with the pieces glued together with golden paint, which represents the 'Kintsugi' concept.

‘MOTHER ROSE’ EDITORIAL 2 : LOCATION: FORMBY BEACH, LIVERPOOL & ROSE’S ROOM IN RUSHOLME, MANCHESTER
MODEL : ROSE AREE JOYCE MOLYNEUX
PHOTOGRAPHER : MYSELF

Mind Themed Editorial :
An editorial dedicating to the inner reflection of my dear friend Rose Aree Joyce Molyneux. Using photography and graphic design to represent her warm-hearted soul and the resonance of the song ‘Sunrise’ by Norah Jones which is the exact replicate of her warm hearted personality. This connection of both music and personality both link perfectly as she is a current singer and songwriter in the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. As she writes her songs, within this editorial she describes how songwriting is so valuable to her and how creative self-expressions rules her life in the best possible way. Within this editorial I have decided the colour theme to be a tinted orange to represent a Sunrise symbolism in relation to the song. Also representing herself as a half British and quarter Thai and Chinese talented young artist, I organised two shoots with her, one in her room and one in Formby Beach. Both representing how she goes through life with her passions and knowledge of songwriting. Her warm-hearted soul is visually portrayed through the outstanding setting, posing, and creative art direction all directed by me.

‘JUST DANCE IT OFF’ EDITORIAL 4 : LOCATION: LOWRY BUILDING PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIOS, MANCHESTER
MODEL : GABRIELLE SANCHEZ & MARIIA BELIAEVA
PHOTOGRAPHER : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING
STYLIST : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING

Body Themed Editorial :
Continuing on the theme of women empowerment and expressing ourselves through being ‘Our own Goddess’, I have developed that physically feeling your body can enhance the femininity within ourselves. More empowered by the physicality of dance as I have recently joined a dance club called ‘Savvy Heels’ where I met Maggie Murray in my previous editorial. This editorial ‘Just Dance it Off’ is dedicated to the love for moving and expressing our bodies in lots of ways to feel empowered and comfortable with our bodies and grateful for our girls that support us. When we feel at doubt with ourselves from different perceptions, as we feel empowered in our own bodies we can release these illusions as confidence grows within. As we feel more sure of ourselves and who we are, all the perceptions of how others see ourselves fade away as they are all not real. The only truth is within ourselves, and we let others question who we are, as people who truly know us are meant to be kept in our lives. Speaking of woman empowerment, it has also not only physically but has mentally changed my mindset on life. It is important to never get caught up by negative illusions people can set on you that aren’t true, in reality we know who we are as I set myself as a bloomed flower. Speaking my truth has always made me realise to remember who I am whenever I get stuck, and feeling more empowered as a feminine ‘Goddess’ of mine, I feel more like a bloomed flower ready to share my love to the world. We are all protected from our own flowers.

‘SPECIAL GUEST : ALICE BELFIELD’ SAVVY HEELS / INTERVIEW EDITORIAL 5 : LOCATION: DEANSGATE, MANCHESTER
MODEL : ALICE BELFIELD
PHOTOGRAPHER : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING
STYLIST : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING

Body / Mind editorial :
This editorial is based off of one of my heel dance friends, Alice Belfield. As further evidence that I have attended Savvy Heels dance club, I have requested to do a mini photoshoot with her in her room and outside of her area (deansgate) and also document a brief interview of what Savvy heels means to her and how being a woman has made her feel empowered through dance. She expresses her current life, and why she feels her girl friends are so important to her, as woman-hood is healing for us. Styled by me, these maximalist contrasts of a blue dress with pink pops of colour, juxtaposes the colour combination of the previous editorial ‘Just Dance it Off’ which similarly connects to this current editorial as it is related to female empowerment and dance. Within this editorial shoot I have directed different Savvy poses that we do in our classes, as well as a photograph of us after a Savvy dance class.

‘JAPANGLISH’ 6 : LOCATION: ZEN SUSHIYA, MANCHESTER
MODEL : ASHLEY HANA ROSQUETA
PHOTOGRAPHER : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING & ELLIE DICKSON
STYLIST : KIMONOS FROM MY MOTHER’S JAPANESE FRIEND, FROM JAPAN

Mind / Spiritual editorial :
Japanglish is another term for my two combination of nationalities ; Japanese and British. I have creatively directed this editorial to represent both of my nationalities in two photoshoot editorials, however using a juxtaposition of props. The first photoshoot is located in Zen Sushiya, a sushi restaurant that we booked, containing Japanese traditional bamboo mats and sliding doors to represent the traditional feeling and atmosphere. Throughout the editorial I describe the feeling of feeling lost inside of myself because of the influence of UK culture forgetting about the other half of myself, my Japanese culture. Representing the Japanese city scapes in the background as well as the matching kimono sets the overall aesthetic. I use my graphic design skills to showcase Japanese writing and phrases to express my knowledge for the language, not forgetting about my 12 years of experience there since I was born. However the photoshoot suddenly switches to a different location inside a takeaway place called ‘Holly Burgers’. This creates the switch of my editorials representing the British side of myself coming out. Involving fast foods including burgers and fizzy drinks, which can create confusion as it looks americanised. This editorial describes my past history with dealing in high school in the UK, struggling to fit in, getting judged, and questioning who I was. Using quotes and inspiration as at the end of the editorial I use the quote ‘I feel grateful of how far I have come’.

‘DO YOU KNOW ME?’ 7 : LOCATION: LOWRI BUILDING, MANCHESTER
MODEL : SIENNA FULLER
PHOTOGRAPHER : NAOMI SUZUKI FIELDING
STYLIST : MYSELF

Mind Editorial :
This editorial creates awareness of how much social media we can consume on a daily basis and how we can make ourselves more aware of our well-being outside of social media. Comparison and losing our sense of self can also connect to an overconsumption of social media which can be toxic for both our physical and mental health. It is very crucial to be aware of our authenticity and avoid comparison of other bodies, looks, appearances, to your authentic own Goddess ; you. Comparison is a useless emotion, and if you take it in you will become further away from where you need to be, your higher self. Comparison also destroys your soul, that has been authentically born since the year you have existed on this earth, would you ever run away from your inner child? I don’t think you would. Especially as a woman, being a woman is very difficult, in fact we all compare ourselves and it is very easy to. It is factual information that we in fact have to be the official owners of our own bodies, to not compare and have envy over anyone or anything, as no one can own our bodies except for us and the people we truly love. So appreciate your existing body right now, because you are one in a million. Life is too short to compare our own bodies to another, and our worth is not defined by someone else’s perceptions of your appearance. Your mind isn’t perceived through someone else’s lens and it can never be, as it is physically impossible. So save your soul, heart, and spirit and take yourself back to present life.
